My wife and I are traveling to the Cinque Terre in Italy and anticipate some challenging terrain for carrying luggage. I wanted a bag that would convert to a backpack carrying style when needed, but with capacity for a week's worth of travel. We purchased two of these bags just before a recent trip to Cozumel and they were great. We carried all our necessities including snorkel gear! The multiple handles let you maneuver when you are on the shuttle to the rental car lot or roll with ease to some of the more distant ticket counters, I'm looking at you IAH. The space is more than enough to get to the 50 pound max and the ease of getting to your gear in the bag will let you rearrange if you went over. If you carry tools or cold weather gear the bottom section lets you keep your kit separate from your personal clothes and gives you the top pockets to keep things you will want to access quickly such as your GPS or Inverter. This bag is more than adequate for anything and has served me well. The bags construction is rugged but lightweight and has not taken any damage in the year I have used it. The other critical thing was since this was a "soft" piece of luggage it was able to fit in places I didn't think it would. As far as the luggage itself, I thought the layout was perfect. I was able to fit enough clothes to accommodate a 2.5 week trip. The shoe compartment was also handy, both because it separated my shoes from my clothes, but also because I was able to gain easy access to them (the shoe department is on the outside/top). Also, because of the "expand" feature, I was also able to pack gifts I got on the road for the trip back. The zippers were strong and sturdy enough to smoosh the bag closed at the end of the trip. Overall, a strong recommendation for any adventure trip. |
